mystery bank credit

I am baffled.
Have had a bank credit to my current account for £25.
I have no clue where the money came from.
I have been to the bank and they are unable to tell me
where the bank credit came from, but assure me that my
bank details are safe and my account is not at risk of being
emptied.
I can only think someone has put in a wrong account digit and it
landed in my account.
I have truly been racking my brains and just not sure where this money is from.

I don't know if anyone has any suggestions how to find out.
Thank you in advance.
Jue :)

Do you hold any Premium Bonds?
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Hi Ariba, it's strange that you should say this.
Yes I hold a small number of premium bonds, it was one of my thoughts,
I checked the premium bonds web site and haven't won a bean.
Thank you for the thought though.
It would have been nice to have a win on the premium bonds.

Not the lottery either. The reference says pbz. When I googled it, this is a bank :-/

My premium bonds come in a long number followed by NS PBZ

Possibly indeed that someone else has signed up for winnings to be paid direct to their account but the dozy fkwiut has got their account number wrong and its going to yours instead.

Looks like the dozy person is my DH he has just checked his premium bonds and has had a £25 win :-)
Thank you for your help. When I looked at the reference again it said NS PBZ.
I think I'll treat myself to something this weekend with dh's winnings of course. :-)
