Converting movie clip

I have used a system to get rid of the adverts on a programme i recorded.It worked alright but the new programme has ended up as a movie clip and when i tried to put it on a dvd using Nero i get a message No Compatable Programme.Anyone know what i need to do to be able to burn it.

all depends what file extension it is ie .avi. mov. .mpg etc. More info please.

mpg should work with NERO no problems. Settings is:

Open Nero
Nero express (CD)
Video/Pictures
Video CD

Add the mpg file and burn it.

Are you trying to to burn to CD? How big is the file?

Is it Nero 6? Do you have the MPEG2 SVCD/DVD burning component installed?

It is Nero 6 Trying to burn dvd using Burn dvd-Video files .
How will i find out about that mpeg burning thing. Thanks

OK, so you have a mpg file and you are trying to burn to DVD. This means NERO must convert the mpg to a VOB file and it looks like there is something that is stopping it (probably a codec issue).

If your file is under 700mb try the the route i suggested earlier and burn it to CD (if it is bigger than 700mb then we will have to try something else!)

To ensure that were are reading from the same page, download and install the latest version of Nero 6; ftp://ftp5.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.1.15a.exe

Let me know how you get on once it's installed. You don't need to install the ASK Toolbar.

If it's still not working for you after that, you may need to download and install NeroVision Express 3; ftp://ftp1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.25_no_yt.exe

Let me know of your progress before you download and install NeroVision Express 3.

The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation. Only compliant DVD-Video files

VIDEO_TS.VOB,
VIDEO_TS.BUP,
VTS_nn_0.IFO,
VTS_nn_0.VOB,
VTS_nn_0.BUP and
VTS_nn_m.VOB
can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add files from a completed DVD-Video title or use an authoring software like NeroVision Express to create DVD-Video files from standard video files such as *.avi and *.mpg.
The file does not match the current file filter.

Thank you Ivrytwr and Donnie. Have downloaded 6.6.1 as suggested.Tried to drag file,which is a coloured circle and different to other files in folder,and this is the message i now get.It looks like i have got to download Express 3 or some other software.

Covkid, if you just want to convert a video file to a DVD try DVD Flick. It's nice and straightforward and generally works very well.

It's freeware as well which is always nice.
