Afternoon.
Can anyone suggest a website for train tickets from Barcelona to Malaga in June 2015?
Also any good hotels in Barcelona?
Thanks

This website will be a good help: http://www.seat61.com/
Doesn't sell tickets itself, but has a wealth of information on all things European rail travel. Use the site richardw recommended above to book direct with the Spanish train company. Any other site will likely charge their own premium.0 -
I'm not sure that there's any straightforward route between Barcelona and Malaga, I did it the other way but travelled via Madrid. The fast trains are very good, 300 kph, so although the distances are quite large the journey goes pretty quickly.0

I've often thought about doing that journey, stopping off at Cordoba on the way. I've never been able to find reasonable fares
Let us know how you get on0 -
Going via Madrid is fairly direct if you look at a map. AVE trains radiate from the capital but it is still 6 hours or so.0

I've just remembered that I did stop off in Cordoba as well as in Madrid, tickets for the three separate stages came to just under £150 in total (in 2009), which I didn't think was too bad.0 -
Unless you have a specific reason for travelling by train, consider flying. It's an hour and a half and can be done for £30-50. Iberia, Vueling and Ryanair all operate the route.0

As regards hotels, there are so many that tips are difficult, but assuming you'll use Tripadvisor reviews, permed against Booking.com and/or hotels/com for prices and availability, I'd do a mapsearch on the sites and choose by area, avoiding those out of town or even those along the beach north east towards the Olympic village. Much better in my view to be in 'Barri Gotic' (the warren of narrow streets in the old town near port and the 'Ramblas' street which is the central spine of the town)
But as regards the OP's Q; one reply might be why? Barca and Malaga are both magic places but as they are at opposite ends of a big country, they're 1000km apart, so that's a bit like planning a 2-centre holiday in Edinburgh and Lands End, Cornwall (in fact- its a bit further than that)?0 -
Have you considered an apartment in Barcelona? We had one this summer in the old part of the city. Really enjoyed it and found it more relaxing. Cheaper option if there is a few of you. Used owners direct website.0
