Hi
I have discovered a default it from nationwide on one of my files. Didn't know it was there as was from a bank account that was joint with an ex and thought it was closed. Some kind if payment went out of it and put it into an unauthorised overdraft. It is now nearly 6 years old but was hoping to get a mortgage with them so need to try get it removed.
Anybody?

Clearly the issue resides between you and your existing relationship with Nationwide. They are unlikely to forget any debt if you want to deal with them again. Perhaps wait until the debt is six years old plus before doing anything.

If the default is factually correct then you won't get it removed. Applying for a mortgage from them may provide difficulties. So have a back up plan. As lenders have longer memories than 6 years. So you never know what may come back to bite you.0
