I've been using Naked Bodycare for ages because it's mostly natural without additive nasties, and very well priced. However this week it's totally disappeared - the Facebook page, Twitter account, website - all just gone. Does anyone know what's happened?

Anyone recommend a cost effective range of hair and beauty products which are similar (i.e. mostly natural without additives).

I used very expensive products not only for hair but also for face skin, but after all the disappointment i finally tried homemade remedies, i found tips on how to make them here: mantello.co.uk

This site has homemade remedies tips on every article, so I hope it helps.

I never used Naked's haircare but did use their showergels which smelled amazing and were perfect for my sensitive skin. So sad to hear the products won't be available anymore.

I really don't spend much at Boots anymore as apart from Burts Bees (which is quite expensive) they have no products suitable for my skin. I do however buy the OGX shampoos and conditioners which are without SLS which I'm allergic to.

Non-sls body products I use Holland and Barett's Dr Organics range. I'm waiting for my stash to go down then I'm going to try Organic Surge. To be honest I think JL / Waitrose is better stocked than Boots for natural bodycare.

  • i'm another who's signed up just to post on this. Naked's the only haircare brand i've used for more than ten years, nothing else comes close. the 'Smooth' products that came out just before they disappeared were incredible for my thick, wavy hair.

never been bereft about a discontinued product, but i'm starting to panic now my massive stash of shampoo is down to the last two bottles!

this was the only thing i bought regularly at Boots, such a shame.

It is worth checking your local stores for stock, the two most locally to me still have stock of the shampoo and conditioner.

I have in the meantime, tried the SLS free shampoo and conditioner from The Body Shop, they where similar prices and almost a good - but I hated the olive oil scent in the one i picked up.

I saw this in Boots Glasgow last night. Seemed to be the full range. Will check Hamilton tomorrow.
  • I'm really sad to hear that! I loved their leave-in conditioner as it was one of the few I've found that doesn't have silicones in. I also liked the fact that they seemed to be a decent company too.

Fragrance direct is selling naked too, the body wash and bubble bath, starflower one I think, I ordered some today. £1.99 each. Free delivery over £40 and if you search the web there's a code for 5% off too! code worked for me today.

Eta - shampoos etc available too if anyone has been looking for them, I just checked the website.

The haircare is back in the big Boots I was in today - half price too! Strangely it still has the website address on the packaging, although it's no longer there...
