Those Random Jobs around Belfast

2. The Tour Bus staff - Outside city hall from 08:00 to 18:00 and perhaps beyond there are at least six people drumming up business and I know there are more positioned at Victoria Square. Even if they manage to fill a bus each day, with the cost of running the bus, the driver and the salespeople I don't understand how this can be viable?
Dont know about the other jobs mentioned but this on can surely pull in the cash. Being local of course we dont pay any attention to these guys but one day in the summer as I walked past I heard the guy say £30 to some tourists. So a "full" bus with maybe 60 people on board at £30 = £1800 per trip isnt bad dough. And in the good weather back in July I saw tourists queued up in a long line. Obviously seasonal but still not bad business, dragging foreigners round some of our infamous sitesI started out with nothing......And still have most of it left:p0 -

True to an extent but these guys operate all year round and at this time of the year there are certainly no packed buses.0 -
The one with the volin/trumpet thing, is a beggar. They give some of the Romanian beggars those instead of the Issue copy they hold.0

I do wonder how he is allowed to remain there, his playing of the Stroth violin is so out of tune it's off putting to people wanting to shop within the establishment he plays outside of.0 -

Begging is a big thing with Romanians. They're known all over Europe for it. You get pretty much plagued by the Roma in Rome.
I had to laugh one day when I saw an oul doll in Portadown sitting on a crate in the High Street with a melodeon. She had no idea how to play it but was just sat there randomly hitting keys and making it sound like a tortured cat. Yet with all her gangmasters thought that was a good way to have her beg?0 -
No further on in establishing how some of these firms/people survive.0
