Those Random Jobs around Belfast

Hi All,
Ok so some of those that I'll be mentioning are not completely random but I do wonder how they're sustainable.
1. Belfast Telegraph mobile sales trolleys - These are usually manned and I just wonder how on earth people can make a living doing this? If people want a newspaper they either just read one online or call into a shop.
2. The Tour Bus staff - Outside city hall from 08:00 to 18:00 and perhaps beyond there are at least six people drumming up business and I know there are more positioned at Victoria Square. Even if they manage to fill a bus each day, with the cost of running the bus, the driver and the salespeople I don't understand how this can be viable?
3. Snax in the City - Great little outlet but it is very small and only has a peak time of two hours with small trade outside of this, however there are at least ten staff working within the unit and I can't see how this makes much money.
4. Leaflet People - You know them all day every day they hand out leaflets at city hall, central station and other areas of the city. Who pays for these people who are always very well dressed?
There are probably others such as the busker who makes about £2 per day outside of Castle Court via playing his out of tune violin with a trumpet head. I would be very interested to hear your views on the about and maybe others I've missed - perhaps I'm missing something with the occupations as well?

Hi All,
<snip>

Now that got me thinking. I've seen these violins before but never knew what they were called - and I hate not knowing about something; must be the latent Irish nosiness in my genes.
So I looked it up and they're called various names including Stroh violin, or Stroviols, (trade name for horn-violins), or violinophone.
And yes, I got that info from Wikipedia.0 -

Hi Julie,
Is that like the guy at Victoria square who sits all day with a sign in his hand saying "Golf Sale" or the guy beside "Castle Court" with the sign advising "Best Burgers in Belfast"?0 -

Maybe the locals think the shop is only for Americans who want to buy candy?0 -
