Toyota Aygo Blue 2010 - Battery Type?

Hi, need to replace my battery and decided on Bosch, but I'm very confused as to which one I need.

I think it's a Silver S4, but I've seen various "Types" listed, 202, 063, 075, then some don't mention a type, but they seem to have different numbers on the front, i.e. S4000, S4001.

Please can somebody tell me which one I should order as different lists on different websites seem to give conflicting answers, and there's quite a lot of difference in price.

TIA!

The higher the CCA reading the more power it will have cold starting in the winter.

The higher the Ah reading the more capacity the battery will have. If its struggles to start one day a higher rated one will crank it over longer before its flat, or if you leave your lights on the higher capacity one will have more life left in it.

Thanks so much - ordering this one through Amazon (cheaper than on Europarts website) http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005XVTVBA/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=382O75NT5UKGG&coliid=I25BV5UG8P7PC0

Battery failed after 4 years? Thats poor. Have you had the alternator checked?

No - how would I check that?

OP I think your first statement about needing a battery and your later reply about not being aware of checking the alternator, may well be a gentle nudge to you that you may have an underlying fault that has nothing to do with the battery and a system check is advisable before throwing expensive parts at the car.

although it's a bit short it's not *that* unusual for a battery to die after four years, in the absence of warning lights or other problems I'd leave well alone.

More generally on batteries, any battery costs £50, a bigger one costs a tiny amount more so I tend to measure the space available and fit the biggest one that will fit.

As an example the europarts http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/accessories-car-batteries/car-batteries/most-popular-car-battery/100-car-batteries/?444771001&0&cc5_996 costs £6 more but has getting on for twice the capacity and CCA (but is four inches longer)

    +1 on this.

Especially if you plan on keeping the car a good few years.

This is an Aygo, not the most demanding starting car on a battery, and while it is still to be decided if the car needs a battery or an alternator, or just a good clean up of some connections. an 063, if it fits the battery box, from your local motor factor, at a fraction of the eurocrap price would be more than suitable.
I have no idea why people on a money saving site would recommend mail order or buying from national chains (now in the hands of corporate investors) over what is cheaper, local and easier to deal with in the event of a problem.

Unfortunately I'm restricted to mail order - nothing local to me. The cheapest I've found delivered is on Amazon from Europarts (it's more expensive direct!). So this one would be suitable? http://www.amazon.co.uk./Bosch-Car-Battery-Type-063/dp/B005XVTW0A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1413002549&sr=8-2&keywords=bosch+car+battery or would the first one (the 202) be better?

I've called the breakdown people out now and they've confirmed I need a new battery. The car's not been driven for over 3 months and prior to that only really for short journeys. They would have charged me £60 for a new battery which I did think was a bit over the top
