Would you buy a house with stairs to the front door?

At least you won't get flooded so house insurance will be cheaper

I live in one, 12 steps, 3 storey at the front, 2 at the rear (built on a hill). The views from upstairs are spectacular and make it well worth it.
I raised two kids here, never had an issue. In 18 years nobody has fallen up or down them. When people come they usually ask how we cope but tbh we love it and have never had a difficulty. Our next door neighbor is ninety, she can still manage them too.0 -
Incidentally, dd has health issues and is often on crutches, you should see her fly up the steps lol0

I'd go for the cheaper house with nicer garden and steps, over the more expensive one with worse garden and no steps - everything else being equal!
I wish I could find a house I liked in my price range with so little wrong with it!0 -

... and this is EXACTLY what happened to me in Feb.
I live in a house that's built 6 steps off the ground. My garden flooded, houses around me flooded, my home stayed dry as a bone inside.
Thank you steps!0 -
Wouldn't put me off. Mines has steps. Coz its higher means there's less chance of flooding, I have nice views and the windows are further from street level, so less noise from traffic/people and people can't see in the windows as much...
