Hello. Should I find a part time job now or wait until I get personal independence payment ? Let me know. Thanks.

I would like to learn more about PIP. Do any of you receive this benefit ? If so how much is it ? Did you need an assessment ? I have applied but still waiting to hear back from them. I applied in the summer so it has been a long wait so far.

Are you feeling well enough to get a part time job? Have your circumstances changed since you applied for PIP?

I have not worked in a while. However I thought it might be worth giving it a go and see how I cope with it.
  • Hi, it took me a year to be awarded PIP! I had my f2f assessment approx 11 months after applying so I'm afraid you may still have a bit of a way to go! However, I hear that the waiting times have reduced since this summer so hopefully yours will be a lot quicker!

I actually started a new job (part-time) a week before I finally got my award but the company I work for have really gone out of their way to help me - special chair, desk that goes up and down so I can stand when necessary (I can't sit for long perids at a time so this really helps me).

As long as the job you take doesn't contradict what you said on your application or your f2f (if and when you have one) then taking a job shouldn't impact on your claim at all.

    Good luck
