Hi CanadianExpat, yes I work with VAs. If you use an agency, mostly you will be allocated the same person, and be aware of the times they are available. Usually you'd have an idea of when you would need someone and matched with a VA with that availability, ie if you needed someone contactable Mon-Fri 9-5, that would be a different requirement to needing someone available out of hours (sometimes lucky and can get someone who does anytime). Or instead of an agency, you used a freelance VA (or a team of VAs), then you'd check their availability before you signed up, to make sure it suited what you needed.
Yes you get some who work less hours/days than others, but perhaps their skills are what you need and it doesn't matter so much when the work is completed if your schedules match.
I always know who I am going to work with and when, for each project, so there's only 1 handover. And when working long-term with a VA, once they know your business and processes, handover is quick and easy for any new work.0
