I wasn't sure if it was walkable to get to the palace etc from Waterloo in the time frame we have but if it is then that would be good as we would rather walk than tube it anyway.

I did look at the Southwark one too as that's about a little cheaper by a couple of pounds than waterloo, but figured we would have further to walk to get to London Eye and other attractions?

I think we will go with one of those two above covent garden then as they seem to be easier to get too when we first arrive.

Yes - Southwark is further to walk (but you'd get a tube from there e.g. jubilee to westminster or green park) - it can often be significantly cheaper tho - but I've often looking a day or two before rather than months in advance :)

Silly question perhaps but is there any chance of booking a 2 night stay instead? One night stays are just never enough in my opinion. By the time you've travelled, arruved, checked in etc you're often ready just for a nice freshen up and maybe a drink or cup of tea. Sounds mad but it all takes time.....

No sooner have you tidied yourselves up etc, the matinee starts, and you always want to get to the theatre early. Maybe half an hour early, so you can chat, buy a brochure, browse around, buy a drink, order an interval drink if you want one.....time really flies. I think the Sunday would just be the theatre,my hen dinner,my hen walk around maybe Covent garden and waterloo bridge which is a too place to see,
You'll then be ready for bed.

By the way, it shouldn't be dark at 5.30 in March, but the Eye is septillion working at that time, and the lights look lovely. Though the Shard is better.

Monday morning I'd do BP for 11,30 to see changing if the gypuardm then I'd take either a river or cruise or tourist bus to see the main sites, try and see Trafalger Square, Piccadilly as well if you can. The Duck is great fun for kids, it's like a tank that takes you around some sights if Oondon and then splashes into the river.

So much to do and see its best to focus on just a couple and remember, things always take longer than youmthinkmtheymwill, so don't cram too much in.

Thanks for your input. I booked the Travelodge at Waterloo last night, it was £48 (£70 when I included breakfast and early check in which in my opinion was worth it.) Southwark was coming in at £68 with the breakfast and check in on top so more expensive on this date.

We did consider two days, and are still considering it but it depends on holidays from work etc. I'm taking my daughter who will be on school holidays, and will also be taking my Mum but she doesn't know yet as it will be her Christmas present. If possible we will try for two nights and just add a night on but will need to see yet.

If you can do it, try and book two nights. From experience of visiting cities abroad one night is just never enough. I always think you need a minimum of two nights. I know it costs extra for the hotel room, but you get more value out of your stay by booking two nights and seeing more of where you want to go to.

If using the tube, do check as there is often work taking place on Sunday's causing delays. TFL have a web site so you can check.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
