Interest gained covers inflation
I understand that, but have you factored in that the interest that you will receive (to cover inflation) will fall each year?'We can get over being poor, but it takes longer to get over being ignorant'

It doesn't work like that, but I know what you are trying to say.
The inflation on the amount in the bank will decrease too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hmmm I was going to comment something like...what job do you do? There is someone out there for everyone - 26 isn't an age to give up on love! If you want more time why not think about a job with less hours? It would give you more financial freedom.
Then I read the previous posts and thought someone might be telling porky pies...0 -

Washer dryers: same as freezer,
HiFi: 30 yr old,
TV: 5yr, replaced a 30 yr old one,
PVR/DVD: 6yr,
Fridge: I've just replaced a 45 yr old one that was still working,
Kitchen telly: 27,
Microwave: 25 yr old hand me down,
Shower: 16,
Boiler 32,
Sewing machine: 50.
Furniture:
Lounge suite: 31 yr,

Dining room: 60-65yr, not sure.0 -

And were all those things that have lasted so long the cheapest available at the time?
You missed this part of my post, if you're going to quote please don't take out bits that don't suit your POVYes, you can get quality appliances that may last that long, but not at those prices, try 3 times as much or lasting 1/3 of the time you believe.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
