Goldiegirl, inflation would very rarely be higher than interest rates.

Read sproggi's post #106 - the facts are explained perfectly.
Oh for goodness sake, he's not serious about it, his whole 'life' is a pack of lies.

I know, but I was just giving benefit of the doubt!

If there's not a post on the pensions board by tomorrow morning, I'll know for sure that this thread is based on a fantasy

I give up, I thought the plan was realistic but it appears not

Sproggi, you are wrong. Cost of living would always go up LESS than the interest received every year

Interest rate greater than inflation rate, whether its on £3 or £300k

Actually, I think you are beyond help

Let's be honest, you don't even have a plan to earn the £300K nevermind invest it for retirement

No, you give him too much credit. Read the thread, he isn't good at listening to anything.

He just got bored annoying gullible old people.

Read up on the RPI Retail Prices Index.
In July it was 2.5%, I don't recall banks paying that amount on savings.

Also, not everything increases at the rate of inflation, take train fares for example, they have been going up by inflation (rates according to the RPI) PLUS between 1% and 2%.
You quite possibly do not use trains, but I am trying to give you an
    example that you might understand.
