Bit of advice....

Hi all
I sold an item to a lady on Ebay, I used Inpost to deliver it and I received an email from the lady advising that Yodel had left her a card saying they had left it in her blue bin outside her house.
Unfortunately, the lady's neighbor put her bin out, and well, the bin men took it away.....
I am not sure what I now need to do, I'd like to help but just want a bit of advice on how I should proceed now.
Thanks in advance.

Refund your buyer unless you can prove delivery and put a claim in against your courier. You didn't pay them to deliver it to a bin.0

Before refunding, ask for a photo of the card and contact the courier to verify the buyer's claim.0

Thanks for your advice. I am in the process of submitting a claim and have asked the buyer for a photo of the card that the courier left.0

I use MyHermes and always add the comment NO SAFE PLACE in capitals in the relevant section on the order form. At least then (hopefully) if THEY choose to deliver and leave the parcel somewhere I should be able to take up the matter and win.
A few weeks ago on t'internet I saw an article (99% sure it was also MyH) where the driver had tried to throw an item into the back garden and it had landed on the roof. They even left a card, stating that the parcel was on the roof.0 -
Well I actually used Collect+ and that is the first and last time I will use them. Normally I use Inpost but the postcode was in the Highlands so was limited. I have used MyH before and they left a parcel in someone's front garden - in full view of passersby - so it got nicked and I had to claim from them too. Good idea about putting, "No safe place" when I go to book.
Claim going through, buyer sent me a photo of the yodel card, will be refunding her.
Thanks everyone, you've all been so helpful.0
