Hi all,
I have just bought a new car but cant shift my old one. I live in manchester and was wondering if anyone knew of any garages willing to accept a 1999 106 peugeot? most garages want a power steering car and my tax is due soon and i cant afford both cars.
help!

Hello Lipsticklady
I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.

stick it in the auto trader, loot, or ebay.0

Just take it round to all the 2nd hand car dealers in the area, and see what they offer you.
you can value your car using the owners section of www.vauxhall.co.uk, give it the details it needs and you should get an idea of how much them may offer and see if your getting a good price.
What model is it? engine? etc some of the 106's are pretty sought after.0 -
Look for similar models on Autotrader, price it fairly, take a photo, give an honest description. Sell it.Happy chappy0

I've sold all my cars on ebay, and I have always got a good price for them.
Before I advertise, I do some research, ie. what has this model previously sold for? Which adverts got the best price.
Then, I carefully advertise my car paying particular attention to:-
Good pictures - people wanna see what they are buying
Really SELL your car, point out the condition, the milage, the service history, the reliability, how many owners, basically tell the next potential owner EVERYTHING they need to know (you can fit in sooo much info, much more than you could with autotrader).
If there are any bad points, list them, ie, any rust, dents, scratches etc. Dont make a mountain out of a molehill though, just say they exist, and show pics if possible.
I always sell my car with an opening bid of £1, no reserve, buyer to collect, and make sure the sale is only open to people with PAYPAL located in the UK. Doesnt mean they have to pay for it with paypal but does stop a lot of scammers. AND I always end an auction on a Saturday around 7-8pm. More people are looking!!!
I've always got a good price, provided the advert if good. And remember - 80% of the bids will come in the last hour :TI'm a nutter :j0 -
On the eBay boards, they strongly suggest not to end an auction on a Friday or Saturday Night. Sunday night is usually the one to go for - but everyone has different experiences.
A 1999 is still fairly new, and therefore might be worth having a look on some 106 car forums and seeing if you can sell it through one of them.0
