Superdrug and Mabelline Packaging contributed to high costs to NHS

Mabelline have a plastic vacumed seal covering their Mascaras which has a perforated area, supposeably to make it easier to open down the side. However Superdrug have put their security seal, also encased in a plastic vacuum seal on top of the Mabelline seal. There is no way of opening this mascara without using a sharp utensil.
I had to use a sharp knife to open these and in the process cut my finger. I was hospitalized for 5 days and had 2 operations to repair my tendon, I have immense pain, cant work or drive and attending Physio twice a week.
Difficult packaging contributes to millions of pounds of NHS money, surely there could be other solutions to make opening packaging easier. All of my friends admitted to using scissors or a knife when also trying to open Make-up. I am warning people to please TAKE CARE !

Clumsiness costs the NHS lots of money.

    Nothing else to see here.

I suggest you invest in a pair of scissors.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Did all your friends spend a week in hospital?
If not, perhaps you could ask them how they managed it.

What did Superdrug say when you confronted them with this?

Have you asked Mabelline to help with your recovery?

    Wrong thread title.

It should be "My stupidity contributed to high costs to NHS"

    Have you heard of scissors?
Its really quite simple to run a pair of scissors around the gap in the bottle and stick and then have enough room to snip through the security tab.
I buy my Maybelline Mascara from Superdrug and I can honestly say I've never injured myself in opening a new one
