If that is truly what you have experienced then I would question why your staff have taken that action, as it is far from the norm. Poor management perhaps?

On the contrary, a majority of new employees are young, post college/uni living or supported by their parents so have little interest in commitment...its just the way it is im afraid

There seems to be this whole parallel world of work inhabited by some on here, where workers only turn up grudgingly, and then just itch for any opportunity to "get one over" on the boss. It's so far removed from anything that I've seen that I'd really never have known it existed if not for this place.

yes, it's a rough, crude and selfish world out there...dog eat dog mentality

good places attract and keep good people the bad people migrate to the bad employers.

self fulfiling if you work for a series of bad employers there is a reason.

Not really, what tends to happen the good employees follow the rules and continue in employement, the bad apples usually want an easy ride and through the disciplinary process and managerial pressure et al end up leaving......the worst ones are the type that are competent at their job but know how to do the bare minimum and play the system...they know all the rules
