Advice please regarding pip..

Had f2f appointment for my sons pip claim the interview was for this week, has been stressful and worrying but then had phone call to say the appointment has been cancelled and everything sent back and we would be having a paper based decision made, was told we should hear in the next few weeks with a decision from dwp. Just wanted to ask has this happened to anyone else and is this a bad thing to happen??..any advice would be appreciated please..many thanks.

it just means that they feel they have sufficient information to be able to make a decision without the need for a f3f meeting.
i would think that it's a good thing personally.... if you gave them plenty of evidence to back up the claim

Thanks so much for reply! Just felt a bit worried as thought there may be a problem, but I did send in lots of letters with form from consultants and support nurse and doctor..

I would think the out come for each single person would depend on circumstances to be honest so it really is irrelevant, but good luck.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I'm sorry I did not mean the question to come out like that, I realise it is different for everyone depending on the circumstance, I was just being curious really as to how many people that make a claim end up having no face to face and claim decision based on paper review? ( I did send in quite a lot of medical evidence with the form but I was a little worried when the appointment was cancelled.) just have to wait now for a decision to be made..

My F2F was cancelled (shame they didn't tell me before I went to the interview!) and I had my decision within a day or two after the interview.
The claim was made in January, the interview was set for the end of August and I was sent the decision etc in the first week of September.
As I am in South Wales it was Capita doing the interview etc.
