Nice independent card shops often do the traditional non choc ones.
Thanks for the beer idea - I did think of that and he probably would like it - just the idea of the amount of space it will take up in our tiny flat that's putting me off! But think I may go for it0 -
Yes in my local 'independent' cheapie card shop I love they have them for £1! Elsewhere I saw them for £6! Also some on ebay but vary from £3-7.0

Next have a 12 day jewellery one for £15 that looks ok. Offhand there are 6 pairs of stud type earrings, a couple of bracelets and a necklace or two. Its not silver / gold but reasonable value...

Tesco also have the Disney Frozen make-up advent. Has a selection of beauty products e.g. Mini nail varnish plus things like combs, mirror, hair clip. 24 items for £15. Got one for my little girl and looks good...might even order one for Mummy too0 -
I have requested the Boots No7 advent for my bday (end of Nov) its £35 and released Oct 29th. It looks amazing, I am really hoping DH has taken notice of my request. It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0

Most of the products were from very high end brands, one of the days had 3 products instead of one and there was a voucher for £15 from one brand for anything on their website no minimum spend and postage paid.
This year's was in today's post - yippee. It's a long wait 'til 1st December, I'll have to be patient. The box seems bigger and heavier than last year, some of the doors are big, could be full size products:D0 -
Saw one in Primark today - said nothing on it about contents or anything and no price on it! I think it must've been cosmetics or jewellery because it was in that sort of section! How do you know what you are buying though?!!0

The 2 different sets I saw in Primark both had plastic sleeves over them with a label on them showing pictures of the items in each set. There were a couple of traditional ones in Toys R Us - one of which was reduced to £1.46 and another one was £2.99. I was tempted, but I have one from John Lewis that we used last year and will be reusing again this year0 -
in true MSE style i made my own
i got a pot and cemented in a tree branch
i painted it white and glued on some little sparkly crystal beads i had left over from a previous project (looks like frost)
i got potting pots (they are about 2.5-3" high) and painted them, and decorated them, and tied with string to look like little buckets
i saved lots of free samples:o and popped one in each bucket with a little tissue paper
its for my mum0
