Royal mail and Amazon

Hi guys,
I hope this is the right forum for this question!
Basically my situation is this. I recently started selling some items through Amazon and decided to try their fulfillment by amazon service in order to boost sales etc. As part of this i shipped my items (worth about £200) to a designated Amazon fulfillment center.
I followed their instructions set out on their website, printing off labels etc. I chose to ship my items with royal mail and paid for a tracked service insured for the value above. All well so far.
I monitor my account on amazon and see that after a few days nothing had changed but the tracking showed that the package was delivered. Thinking that maybe they take a few days to process I give it another day, no change and then contact Amazon.
Amazon says they have no record of my shipment being delivered at all, but have taken the tracking details I have given them and are now looking for the package.
So my question is this:
If Amazon have no record of having received the item on their system and Royal Mail say that it WAS delivered. Where does that leave me other than out of pocket?
With whom do I pursue this? Can I presume if it is lost that Royal Mail delivered it to the wrong place or did Amazon fail to book the delivery in making the error theirs.
I can see neither taking responsibility for this as both will claim it was the other that failed but I simply want my money or goods back and it's extremely frustrating.
Hopefully someone out there can advise me what is the best course to resolve this.
Thanks in advance.

Where does the tracking state the package was delivered to? Is there a signature or name?0

Amazon are really fussey with packages being checked in, I use their recommended carrier UPS and never had a problem, its a little over £5 for a box so not bad at alll. If you log into your account, go to help, to contact seller support they are usually fast to respond on there if you open a case. If they have lost the stock they always compensate at the average selling price minus a bit for commession and other costs so you shouldnt loose out.0

thanks for the quick replies.
the tracking doesn't actually say where it was delivered to just says
Status: Delivered
Your item with reference xxxxxxxx was delivered from our EDINBURGH Delivery Office on 03/10/14 .
Thank you for using our Special Delivery Guaranteed™ service.
And then has the signature and name date and time.
I didn't use UPS just went for royal mail is it was more convenient (not now though!)
Will Amazon accept responsibility and compensate even if they do not acknowledge they even received the goods, because as far as their system is concerned, the items haven't reached them yet?0 -
Just replying to let you know that no sooner had I posted the last comment above, did I check my email to see that Amazon had actually messaged to say they'd found my items and all was well.
Thanks again for you quick replies, but I'm glad to say it all ended well.0 -
Do not delay. GPS tracking is available to RM,but its doesnt stay on the system long.
You need to contact the delivery office and get them to check the GPS tracking. If you wish you can pm me the number to have a dig, however be aware it would let me know roughly where you live. Your DO should be able to get this data.
edit: oops, read the whole thread next time
