Videolan help needed

Successfully downloaded several music video clips in zip file this morning, saved, then played fine using Videolan VLC. The clips are now in my Download file.
However when I now try and play any of them on VLC the player just sits there doing nothing, yet it still plays other audio files I have saved. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Even though they played OK before do I need some new codec for zip file?

You have to un-zip the file first. You can use; http://www.7-zip.org/

Thanks for the link, had just guessed that an unzip was needed but fooled by fact that the videos played on first downloading.
That worked fine - excellent!
Now I just have a similar problem playing an ACE audio file, any help appreciated.
