    Not quite sure why you need paid childcare if your partner works early mornings while you are at home to look after the children. Bit late now but I would have kept the eldest out of pre school until the free hours kick in the term after their third birthday. Then use only those hours so there are no childcare expenses.

    NoThe paid childcare is the £165 we pay for her going to.pre school 2 half days a week she needed to mix with other children and loves it

    no when you pay other people to look after your child it is paid child care. Most people who don't earn a lot and are at home with the kids take them to under 5's toddler groups which are about £1.50 and you get a cup of tea and biccy- and the child gets to play with other kids to socialise. Or meet mothers with kids at the park and arrange playdates at each others houses.


    Your wife is working really early in the morning yet paying for childcare that's not needed. Hope you don't mind me saying that's a strange thing to do. Sounds like its too late for this child but something worth thinking about for the younger child.
