Kitchen size is 2400 by 2400, will be completly replaced the old kitchen, replace new cupboards, sink and cooker and leave the spaces for washing machine, dishwasher and fridge. Quote by someone for £ 2600 inc vat. One of my friend will fit it for £700. Total cost £3200. We will use our own fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.

Thanks for your help.

Kitchen will be like this

Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Is This Quote Fair?’ board, where it is better suited.

Regards

Depends what spec the kitchen is I guess. I got a B and Q IT kitchen in my old house (budget I know but perfectly adequate for us as we were only ever going to be there a couple of years), pretty similar size, for £1600, pretty much identical to yours in terms of what we needed. That was composite worktops. We did get quite expensive taps/sink/handles and a decent oven and hob. Homebase quote came out quite similar to yours and their kitchens looked worse than the IT range
• Try pricing up the cupboards on DIY Kitchens online. They come prebuilt, not flat pack so your friend will be able to install in half the time.

Seems steep tbh
Not much of a friend if hes charging you 700!

Whats the build?
3 standard wall units 1 1/2 width?
2 standard base
1 double base
2 slim base

Whats the worktop?
Also do you have a break down of the actual quote?

Really?? £700 to fit a kitchen that size, if its a decent kitchen fitter, is a good price. All our quotes were between £1250 and 1500, albeit that was inclusive of the floor tiling. Not sure what kitchen fitters you know but standard daily charge is £250 down south.
