because many places wont let them in to take advantage of the facilities because they are homeless, often less than clean and unkempt ( not their fault... they have no way of keeping themselves immaculate)I have noticed especially around xmas time more homeless people and I think why not go to council offices to see if theres any help or even the library where its warm for them during the day to research on help.
it upsets 'decent' peoples sensibilities to have to share airspace with them!
there used to be a homeless man that sat outside the local shopping ventre with his dog. o wouldnt give him money, but started buying him a burger and a hit chocolate.
i watched him split the burger with his dog ... and so after that i got them one each!

Belladonna13 I have been fortunate enough to not of been homeless but I have worked closely with the homeless community in central London. Everything you say is very true. A lot of the homeless are ex serviceman, & many have mental health. Unfortunately unless you a danger to yourself or the public the MH Services won't detain and accommodate. It is very hard to get off the streets once on them. Some people succeed, but many don't have the mental capability to get off the street. I would rarely give money to homeless people, but frequently have tea/coffee, or socks. A homeless person once told me that it's such a simple thing but can make all the difference.0

Read somwhere the other day about a chap who went without his lunch to give a beggar some money and then later saw her driving a much better car than his. Apparently the footage of the ensuing altercation can be found on YouTube."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

... and now you can also add those from Eastern Europe that are cluttering our streets in London. I hope we're not encouraging them by giving them money.0
