Booking practical test then changing name?
So my wife just passed her theory test.
Her driving licence is still in her maiden name, and it runs out at the end of October - so obviously when she renews she'll want to change her name.
If I book her a practical test now (for mid Nov time), then send her licence off, the booking will be with her old licence number! Are they clever enough to work that out? Or do I have to wait until she's got her replacement licence and then book the test (which could take months)?

It shouldn't take months.
Should be back within 3 weeks.0 -

The cost of them doing it's about the same as a photo from a photo booth.
Or if she has a passport less than 5 years old, do it online. It should be with you in a week.

From my experience as an instructor, I'd say the quickest course (and the most fool-proof) is keep things simple: book her test now, and renew her licence in her old name.
When she passes she can then get a new licence in her new name at her leisure.
Much less opportunity for someone to screw things up.0 -
