Tesco DD Setup Failed

I've recently opened a joint Club Lloyds account, in addition to the individual Club Lloyds accounts that both myself and my wife have. Both my wife and myself have Tesco Interenet Savers in individual names, as DDs for our existing Club Lloyds accounts. In order to qualify for the interest on the new joint account I've set up a DD to a Tesco Internet Saver for me, but in trying to set up a DD for my wife to her Tesco account, the DD failed i.e. she gets an error saying they need to make some checks and will be in touch in the next 5 days. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, do you know what the issue is? Thanks.

Yes, same thing happened to me, no idea what the issue is/was but tried again a few days later and it worked fine second time round. Their online banking doesn't seem to be the most reliable, on several occasions future-dated transactions haven't showed up so I've ended up duplicating them....

Me too. Tesco (or their system) seemed to think multiple linked accounts pointed to some sort of fraud. I told them why I needed so many DDs and they accepted my explanation.

I've tried a few times since my original attempt but always had the same error. All has become clear today. A letter has arrived from Tesco asking for proof that the account that we're trying to DD from (our new joint Club Lloyds) is actually hers. Clearly they don't like you linking to too many accounts. However, I had no problem doing it with my Tesco account and I have lots of linked accounts.

I have a rogue DD that credits my Tescos savings account every month for the last seven months. The money is swept away by Tescos,

I get a letter each month to notify the fact. There is not enough information in the letter to track down the source of the confusion. The telephone call staff have even less information.

I suspect that an account application that involved a direct debit request is stuck in their system due to a browser error or unforeseen oversight .

Hopefully the source will be revealed next month when the DD is triggered once more.

That's just happened to me.I tried last month with OH's Tesco A/c, and said they would look into it. Got letter 3 days ago, allowing it, but,had already set up another Tesco IAS instead, so now, there are 3 DD's to the Club a/c, only 2 paying out though. All ok.
