Anyone find Dual Fuel NOT the cheaper option?

After doing a bit of research and taking into account my usage and various discounts on offer, I found that the best option for me would be to take my gas with Southern Electric and my electricity with Scottish Power.

Has anyone else found that by not combining the utilities and avoiding the Dual Fuel option they have actually saved money?

Yup - I have my gas with Ebico and my electric with British Gas. I just don't use enough of either to push me far enough into the stepped tariffs that offer discounts for higher consumption. The comparison engines certainly make it easy enough to check for gas and electric combined, and then each individually (I know USwitch offers tabs at the top of the search).

Cheaper for me. Switched 'leccy to Powergen and gas to Atlantice E+G. SAving about £17 a month plus got £43 cashback from Quidco!

Yup, for me its cheaper to take my electricity from Click Energy but keep my gas with Ebico due to my usage levels.

That is a very good question,as i was wondering the same thing.I have both my utilities with Atlantic at present and their gas is a very good price. However i am quite heavy on electric and found Scottish power prices much better. However when i looked at the switch site for just signing up with them for electricity there was no facilty to do so.To get the best online deal i probably can't ring up so i am a bit stumped.I might wait now for my free month, due November, then have another go.

Certainly is for me too. Gas with Equigas (Ebico) and electricity with Scottish Power.
