Cheap hotel near Heathrow Terminal 2

Hi.
Friend and I are flying to Italy in Sept.
We need a cheap, clean, safe hotel near Terminal 2.
As our flight out is 6AM (presumably check-in 4AM) we need a hotel a SHORT taxi ride away.
Any recommendations please?

Avoid Heathrow Lodge, we used it in April and it was horrible

I always book my Heathrow hotels through www.holidayextras.co.uk

They have pretty much all of them listed there so you just need to decide how much you want to spend.

Jurys inn is a nice hotel, used to have cheap rates, but might have gone up now

Thanks. That is a really useful site - much better than the link from the Heathrow airport page.

    Which hotel did you choose
  • Worth checking out if there is a free bus from your hotel to the airport too - we booked a taxi with the hotel when we flew out of heathrow, can't remember which hotel - think it was the holiday inn, only to see a free bus pull up while we were waiting for it to turn up.

No, not free. The airport authorities banned the hotels from offering this service, since it apparently caused traffic congestion. The only option is the shuttle bus that serves all the hotels, but a ride on it costs five pounds per person.

    Holiday Inn Heathrow.
Maybe not the cheapest but only 0.5 miles from airport (thinking about VERY early morning taxi)

3 times I've bid on Priceline for a 4* hotel at Heathrow and every time I've got the Sheraton Skyline on Bath Road for a total of £45 inc tax.

ah, well, It was around four years ago now I guess.

Book your own taxi tho, remember we did it through the hotel and the ten minute early morning ride cost about a fiver more that the black cab back there in rush hour...
