Quick question.
Would you post your passport and application in a C4 envelope or is it too big?
I cut a C4 envelope in half and sealed it with prit stick glue.

Nope. Use the Post Office to pre-check your application, they will send it for you and you'll get it back in two weeks if you were lucky like me. Costs 81 quid all in.0

I've already filled out the forms online, why would I pay the post office to check a simple form like that?
Also I have 2 passports to renew so that would be £162 as against £145.over 73 but not over the hill.0 -

Alternatively throw the money down the drain and check it yourself and post it if you've filled it in correctly.
Check and send is one of the biggest cons out there, the fact they provide no guarantee at all to the checking part of the service just shows how much faith they have in their own abilities.
As to the OP, you can fit a passport into it then its fine to use. No real harm in having an envelope thats bigger than necessary but think I used a C5 for ours as I happened to have them knocking about0 -

You might as well give it to the girl at the checkout in Tesco to check, she's had as much training as the person in the post office.
And once it's arrived at the post office it get no preferential treatment, just goes in to the 'process' pile as all the others that arrived in the post that day, same 'luck' as everyone else as to how soon you'll get it back.
Money well spent? I think not.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

In the absence of a C5 I would have put it in the C4, sealed it, folded it half and taped all sides then addressed the C5 size you're left with.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I used to use Check and Send mainly because it was a convenient way to pay for the passport, ensuring that there would be no delays relating to payments. I would always send the supporting documents by special delivery anyway, and the Check and Send service only costs a couple of pounds more than special delivery (unless you're sending multiple applications in one envelope, of course).
However, now that you can pay online, I don't think I'd bother.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
