Who is beat for kitchens? We need 5!

Hiya! I was wondering if anyone could share an experience with dealings with kitchen companies?

We need 5 however 3 of them may be salvageable in that the cupboards are fine just need new doors and worktop (these are from B&Q). I have arranged an appointment for them to come out however I don't know if they're the best/cheapest and whether I should get other companies in to quote.

Having never done a kitchen before I have no idea whether I should budget £5k per kitchen or £20k!!

Need it to be as cheap as possible whilst still looking lovely and good quality. So any tips are very welcome!

  • I've now done a couple of kitchens and a utility using units from DIY-kitchens. Really impressed with them, and for us came out cheaper than B&Q and the likes whilst being much better quality

    Then it wont be B&Q.

Realistically, Howdens or MagnetTrade are your best bet.

Just a thought...... what style kitchen do you think will appeal to the majority of people?? I think the shiny surface cabinets look lovely (you'll have to forgive my shocking memory I cannot remember what they're called). I think they look clean and modern. My mum and husband both think they're too hard to keep clean (fingerprints etc).

Or traditional wood? Or cream coloured wood?
  • OP....Try ebay. See my post of a few minutes ago !!

Depends on the house! Pick something in keeping.
