Gone into overdraft with standing order to another of my accounts!

I had a standing order on my bank account which transferred £500 from my Barclays current account to my Santander current account every month. Two weeks ago I cancelled this standing order. However, today the money has come out of my account and now I am in my overdraft by £350.00! All for transferring money to myself, even though I cancelled this standing order! I am currently working on getting the money transferred back as soon as possible! (Not being able to log into my Santander account is not helping!).
Can anyone inform me where I stand on this? I have never gone into my overdraft before (except when it was a student account) and never been charged so a little bit nervous about the charges I am going to be faced with! & if there is any way I can appeal? I definitely cancelled this standing order!
Many thanks.
Edit: I have just received a text from Barclays informing me I have gone into my overdraft and to avoid charges, pay in sufficient funds by 18:30 today - phew! does this mean if I get the money back by that time, I will not be charged?
sorry but this is all new to me!

Overdraft.....How to reduce your charges
We provide a number of tools that can help you to avoid charges – free Text Alerts , a £15 buffer zone, the Barclays Mobile Banking app , Online Banking and a grace period to pay money into your account and avoid fees. If a payment takes you over your limit, you’ll have until 3pm that day to pay enough money into your account to make the payment and avoid a fee. The money needs to be immediately available to use, so you can transfer money from another account using mobile, online or telephone banking or you can pay cash over the counter in branch.0 -
DannyWhoWorks: I suggest that you log in again at Barclays and view all your DD and STO to be certain that the £500 STO is no longer shown. I have cancelled many STO using Barclays internet banking .. never been an issue .. always gone. Barclays must have an audit trail of all your actions. Perhaps ask them to look at the day that you cancelled this STO.
With regard to money going back in today .. I think you will not be charged.0 -
how did you cancel the SO?DannyWhoWorks wrote: »Two weeks ago I cancelled this standing order.
An SO pays money to a sort code and account number. Nobody apart from yourself knows, or checks, that this sort code and account number belongs to you.DannyWhoWorks wrote: »All for transferring money to myself
You appear to have multiple problems with your accounts.....but perhaps you could use telephone banking , you could draw cash from Santander and pay that cash into your Barclays account etc etcDannyWhoWorks wrote: »,(Not being able to log into my Santander account is not helping!)
Seems to me you know where you stand on this?DannyWhoWorks wrote: »Can anyone inform me where I stand on this?
that's what the text says, doesn't it?DannyWhoWorks wrote: »I have just received a text from Barclays informing me I have gone into my overdraft and to avoid charges, pay in sufficient funds by 18:30 today - phew! does this mean if I get the money back by that time, I will not be charged?0
