PIp can apply if the pain mkes it difficult for you to undertake various tasks. You need to be able to carry out the actions reliably repeatably and I think safely. There is a list of descriptors and the points for each one. You could ring up for a form then make an appointment with CAB to assist in completing it. There is a long backlog so it is worth making a start as if you are successful it will be backdated to the date of your claim.

Barclays were worse than useless when it came to my mortgage. ...I was sent a financial hardship form...filled it in, income (I.e SSP only), expenditure, showing the gross imbalance of one over the other. A couple of weeks later I get a letter with a one sentence response...my circumstances do not meet their criteria for a reduction in my mortgage payments. Not quite sure how bad circumstances have to be to be given a little help.

I've since been told that some providers need you to be in arrears before they will help you....how unbelievably short sighted is that !

Thanks for the tip on the pip...I didn't realise about the 'repeatedly' bit...that could be my saving grace. Will get a copy of the former like you suggest.
