Is there such a thing? Ideally freesat+ but would consider anything if there is a stable remote record app.

Think the some of the Humax DVR have Android apps for remote control. (but lots of not-so-great reviews for the apps!)
I've an old Humax FoxSatHDR box with custom firmware, it's got a "web" remote control which is passable, you can set recording schedules but it can be a bit fiddly since the underlying system was never designed for web access.Laters

Smart Remote works for me.
Controls all sorts (once programmed) including Tivo, Air-Con, Camera, Game Consoles, AV System, etc.
Don't know if it will work with your particular chosen device (as you haven't bought it yet), but it allegedly supports over 800,000 devices.
