Return it under the warranty.
It's just an added complication with HP/Compaq. Usually the System ID and other info is stored in the DMI area. Sometimes when the system is updated or the Motherboard changed, that information isn't updated and you get the error shown.
You can enter it yourself using DMI tools.
Have you changed any components or updated the BIOS?0 -
Er..no bought it second hand,so don't know a lot only this error message,so sending it back may be difficult, like to know if there is a DIY fix though,0

Regardless of it being second hand, it should still be under warranty.
The model is only six months old. Whatever possessed you to buy it? How much did you pay?
The DIY fix is to obtain the DMI Tools and to re-insert the System Information.
The System Information may be found under the battery.0 -
Oh I thought you may need a receipt for warranty purposes,It was a impulse buy and paid less than a chip supper for it,0

So where is the receipt? The original owner couldn't have lost it over such a short period. Probably purchased in PC World.
Not easy for me to give instruction about a particular machine, as the instruction will be peculiar to that range.
It may work with a bootable USB drive containing NbDmiFit or you may need to unlock the MPM(manufacturing programming mode) in order to modify the system info with wndmifit.0 -
You don't ask questions at a car boot sale, bloke look well off and just wanted stuff gone, best bet to contact is it hp for compaq,is it not?0
