Dangerous car, please help

Hubby bought a car from a dealer in Wembley 3 weeks ago, after a long drive home he mentioned that the gears were difficult to engage, car dealer had told him that a new clutch had been fitted so we put it down to this. The next day the car smelt strongly of diesel and we noticed a clunking noise when going round corners. We took it to our local garage (4 days after purchase).
They found the following problems;
1.Diesel leaking from injectors.
2. Bolt loose in gear box mounting.
3. Subframe is severely damaged.
4. Front suspension is severely damaged.
5. Gear cables were cable tied together.
The inspecting garage refused to touch it and told us it was extremely dangerous and that it had obviously been involved in an accident. the same day we contacted the dealer and rejected the car under SOGA, giving them a 14 day deadline for refund. At first they denied there was anything wrong with the car, however when hubby mentioned contacting trading standards they changed there tune and sent a tow truck within a couple of hours to collect the car. After numerous, heated, emails and phone calls they agreed a refund. We were told that it was sent on Thursday ( deadline) via bank transfer, however it has not been received. We have asked numerous times for confirmation of payment, but are always fobbed off. We have also found out that they have previously had a car sales business closed down by trading standards! They are at the same premises but have changed the name of company and managing director!!! :mad:
What do we do from here??

    Thanks for your reply. Letter was sent rejecting the car as soon as we found out how damaged it was. We gave them a 14 day deadline, which has now passed. Feel we have no alternative but to start court proceedings. They have been reported to trading standards via consumer helpline, but just feel that there is no help available to us

    How did he pay for the car? If by credit card (any amount £1 or more, as long as the purchase price was >£100) then look at a Section 75 claim.

    Much to my despair, he paid by cash! as we have an email from them offering a refund will they be able to dispute a claim?
