How much to rewire 2 bed 1st floor loft area in Essex

Can anyone advise what the average hourly cost & time would be in Essex area for a rewire of a small 2 bed terraced house, 1st floor lighting system in the loft area & install 15 halogen fire rated lights? Removing loft boards and ensuring loft insulation doesn't touch new lights etc.

Have had a quote which seems quite high to us but we live in Scotland and prices round here are much cheaper.

Not sure what you are asking. Are you looking for an entire rewire PLUS lights in the loft or just the lights in the loft and the halogens?

Regardless, you will need to supply more info. Number of sockets, FSUs, switches, pendants, outside sockets/lights etc etc. And where abouts in Essex? Essex covers parts of Greater London as well as places where they still haven't got religion. (I live in Essex so I can say that).

No just rewire lighting - the sockets are ok, wires already in loft area (which may have been too close to the existing halogen lights which aren't fire compliant) and retrofit new halogen fire compliant lights 15 halogen downlights to 2 bedrooms, landing & bathroom. Would need to lift the loft boarding and move/cut insulation so it isn't near new lights

Essex covers parts of Greater London as well as places where they still haven't got religion. (I live in Essex so I can say that). Totally agree - its the Basildon area.
