OP, yes, pretty much all domestic ones use cold water. But to be honest, that's all you need. Certainly for cleaning drives, cars ( be careful with it ), kid's garden play equipment, patio furniture, etc., a bog-standard cold-water pressure washer will do just fine. Don't worry about detergents or anything, but the "rotating pencil jet", "dirt-blaster", "turbo lance" - call it what you will ! - is a very worthwhile investment for drives, patios, paths etc,

Think how rubbish electric showers are, a dribble of hot water no matter how good the water pressure - in fact they stop the pressure down so the heater can heat the water fast enough to be shower temperature!

Heating water takes a *lot* of energy. The speed it comes out of those pressure washers, you'd probably need to wire it into the ring main just to get it warm!

whats the difference when it comes to the motor? induction vs brush motor, it seems the induction are the more expensive but are they better? doesnt seem to be that much of a difference in bar pressure or liters a hour....

Induction motors tend to last longer and are quieter, brushed motors may need the brushes replaced at some point, you won't get that with induction.
