Hello. I have recently purchased the google chromecast. It works fine when I go on youtube and it goes onto my television fine and with audio.
However I am having problems with sky go. When I go on sky go with my chrome browser there is a picture but the audio is not coming from the televison. I am getting a picture from the television but the audio is coming from the laptop.
Can anyone help with this ?

Don't have Sky Go myself but believe it uses Silverlight which is not supported by Google Chromecast and is probable cause.0

I was on 4od later. The screen and audio came up on the television using google chromecast.
However the picture on the tv screen was buffering at times.
Is there anything I can do to stop this buffering on the television and hence have the television screen working fine ?
Let me know. Thanks.0 -

I thought BT Sports also used Silverlight? (Well it does for the PC version, maybe not for the Chromecast version). BT Sports works great on my TV via Chromecast.
I also don't have Sky Go so can't advise on that - other than to say I thought Sky Go wasn't compatible with casting? (i.e. it is designed for use on a smaller screen, and they actively try to prevent it playing on a larger screen).0 -
BT Sport has a chromecast app, whereas Sky Go and 4OD do not. You're never going to get the same quality on video when you're casting a Chrome tab rather than using an app, and as you've discovered anything that uses Silverlight isn't really compatible. 4OD uses Flash, but the buffering issue is because it's coming through your laptop rather than directly to the Chromecast.0

Is there any way of sorting out the buffering problem when I cast from my laptop to television ?0

If your laptop supports 5Ghz wifi (and your router offers it), then you could try connecting your laptop to the 5GHz wifi network (CC will connect to the 2.4GHz network) and see if that helps.
Other than that I'm out of ideas.0 -
Faster internet? Faster laptop? Faster router? You're downloading video to your laptop, then sending it via Wifi to the Chromecast. That's pretty heavy going! I assume you're using the Chrome browser. Note that 'casting a tab' is in Beta. Firefox is brining 'casting a tab' along too if you want to give that a go...0

I used "cast a tab" during the Ryder Cup to send video to my TV via Chromecast. It actually worked quite well. (Well, as good as the bitrate of the stream could offer anyway).
Mind you I do have BT Infinity 1, good wifi coverage, and a pretty decent laptop spec (Intel i7-2960QM and 8GB RAM).0
