Indeed, since the property in which the claimant does not live would be considered a capital asset.
The exception that I have encountered is when the second home is on the market, and so for a limited period means-tested benefits are paid so long as the owner is making all reasonable efforts to sell it. I suppose that if the rented property is in negative equity that would also be an exception.0 -
