Oak Furniture land faulty product help

Hi everyone!
First off apologies if this is in the wrong area? I looked through them all and this seemed the nearest to my problem!
I have just read some of the other OFL complaints/threads on here
if only i had searched before we bought our coffee table.
We have just moved in to our first house and we 'treated' ourselves to an 'Oak' coffee table from OFL. We have now had it 1 month and 3 days and each corner of the coffee table has split and cracked and both (it has two large legs/sides of the legs are separating from the table top itself.
I have filled out OFLs online damage/fault form and submitted images but i am yet to receive any reply other than an automated one.
I need to know legally where do i stand. I have read the consumer rights sticky a couple of times.
But one area i am unsure on is that OFL state that if you DON'T have the original box that it came in (a tatty ripped cardboard box might i add). They can't accept any returns as that is what it says in the Ts and Cs.
Is that true? I bought a coffee table off them, not a cardboard box. I am trying to return the coffee table because it is not satisfactory quality and it certainly isn't as described/what was in the showroom.
Any help/advice is VERY VERY much appreciated. As you can imagine money is very tight and this is very much the last thing we need.
And for anyone looking for information on Oak Furniture Land, avoid avoid AVOID.
