Tax credits penalty

Anyone had one?
I'm currently paying back an overpayment at £20 per month and now I've got a penalty to pay.
I'm disputing the overpayment, and have written and disputed the penalty, BUT as usuall they've ignored my letter. Now I've got a reminder to pay as if I never write to them.

So.....I'd like to appeal it again, but where to write to ( so as not to be ignored?)
Also, if I fail at this again....does anyone know the process of wht happens?
I can afford maybe £10 per month, do they take part payments? If they don't take part payments what will happen?
I just don't want bailiffs at the door!

  • Thanks. I see there's an official form for appealing the penalty but I'm now over the 30day limit, not sure if that will help me.
The reason for the penalty Is that they say I claimed wrongly, although I followed advice from the helpline, and then complied with them completely.

Anyway, my other question is, can the penalty be paid back in part payments as well as the overpayment?
