Website vanished - Talktalk has abandoned us

Previously I explained how OH's dial.pipex (small business) website, fully paid up to June next year, suddenly vanished from the internet early last month. There is just a service message up now at the URL saying it no longer exists, and customers should contact Verizon. This applies to all dial.pipex sites not just ours.

Dial.pipex is a legacy system which ended up with Talktalk. The website vanished just after Talktalk fixed a problem with pipex.dial email. Now email works but all the dial.pipex websites are down, not just ours. All with same message.

As our contract is with Talktalk we contacted them. A salesman promised to pass it on to tech support. Meanwhile it did seem as though Pipex had some historic contracts with Verizon. We wondered if Talktalk had forgotten to pay them? Talktalk tech support got back in touch and said they had contacted Verizon who were not replying.

Next thing that happened was that we got a demand online to provide our credit card details to Verizon, for them to try to get the site back, in bad english. We phoned Verizon UK who said we were not the first dial.pipex customer to contact them but they knew nothing about it. They referred us back to Talktalk.

We assumed the sites had been hacked and the message was a scam so sent the message + source code off to Talktalk tech support. This time we had a reply from their business domain admin saying the message source indicated it was a genuine message from Verizon (from their European hq in the Czech republic). However there did not appear to be anything they could do since Verizon were not yet replying to any of Talktalk's communications.

Since then it has all gone quiet. No further word from Talktalk who appear to be waiting to hear from Verizon if they ever do. Meanwhile our business website is down.

We do have the site backed up, but we need a new host and at the very least need our money returned from Talktalk and an explanation. Domain admin appears to have abandoned us, and we assume the other customers in the same situation. (We know some of their their names but cannot look up their websites for contact details because they have all been taken down, like ours.).

How do we progress from here? My husband needs the site for his business. Is there any way of making an official complaint to talktalk?

    Of course there is.
Can't you find Talktalk's website either?

And why do we need a THIRD thread on this?

We did phone talktalk to make a complaint and got put through to a salesman who reported the issue to talktalk tech support but now it seems to have reached a dead end. Asked the question in hope that someone else had had to make a formal complaint and might have a suitable name.

Summarised the previous account up to date because original account in now some way back in the posts.

You obviously know how to reply to posts - why didn't you reply to your earlier post (and so bump it back to page 1)?

Summarising actually makes it HARDER for people, as some pertinent detail (that was previously discussed) maybe overlooked.
