No, I'm trying to have no more searches since I got new ccs/accounts in August so it was weird to log in today and see that search dated 1/10/14

An ID check does not impact your file, it can not been seen but maybe someone is looking for you, that is one of the things that company does.

You'd have to contact them to check. The majority of the time it's entirely innocuous. In these days of price-comparison sites, you can expect to be checked once in a while, for various reasons. As above, your credit isn't impacted.

What's bad money? The only company I owed was 3 and that was paid a week before the search.

Unfortunately it's a fact of modern life that the world and his brother can access data held about you at the credit reference agencies, basically with no questions asked. It's a fallacy that you need to give consent for these searches, as your case highlights.
