Just googled for you and it says to wrap tightly in portion sized packages in clingfilm and then put into freezer bag. There is a comment from someone saying it doesn't loose either its taste or texture.
Haven't actually tried myself as it's not something I've come across on a good offer!

Hi Cuddlymarm,
Really enjoying reading your thread! My husband and I are Old Stylers by choice, not really through necessity - it's just how we like to live. I knit, sew, cook, bake, paint furniture, grow fruit and veggies etc, and my husband is a dab hand at DIY and making something out of virtually nothing - he's just made a scratching post with a tunnel for our two new kittens that also incorporates a catflap at one end of the tunnel, so we can teach them how to use it, ready for when they go outside. Looking forward to reading more of your posts!0 -
Thanks Joedenice
I'll start looking for offers, my men like smoked salmon and cream cheese only as a treat though. Too expensive for everyday
Hi Tamara
You are so lucky having kittens in your house. All our pets have now passed on and we both it is unfair to have pets if we would have to regularly put them in kennels/ cartery as all our family are too far away to help. When we retire we might get a pet then but at the moment out of the question.
I'm not the greatest knitter but find it quite relaxing.
I can't see the point of spending unnecessary money and retirement seems to be hurtling up so every penny saved means a more comfy life later.

Good morning everyone
Soooo chilly here this morning. Hopefully it will kill a few bugs and nasties off, I seem to have a permanent cold at the mo.
Going to be a busy day here, lots of washing, ironing, hoovering etc as well as working out what I still need for Xmas. The food buying is coming along well, meat all bought and in the freezer, sweets and biccies are in the spare bedroom so we aren't tempted. The bicies have already had to be replaced cos they needed to be used as a gift. Handy to have them in though.
Day will have to be interchangeable cos if I can get a doctors appointment that will come first. I phoned Friday cos I have mild vertigo so want to see if doc can do anything about it and they said ring Monday and they might have appointments or the nearest planned appointment was December. I feel for anyone in pain at least what I've got is just inconvenient. You can see why outpatients is struggling to keep up. Anyway enough about that.
Belts are going to be truly truly squeezed in the new year if we can get a mortgage cos we are going to attempt to get back on the housing ladder. If we don't do something soon we will be too old to get a mortgage. It's no fun this getting older thing.
I'm hoping for a dry day later in the week so that I can get the bus to town and get a lot of the pressies finished with. It's a long walk to the bus stop and getting soaked tends to dampen festive spirit. But the sooner I do it the sooner I can pass them on and save having to post them.
Anyway time to get on
Keep warm and well guys

Cold here too Cuddly! my pampered Persian totally refused to set paw outdoors until the sun had warmed up the decking! and he LOVES his garden time! just doesn't like 'cold, wet, windy' he has never encountered snow so that is going to be interesting, if we get any! (he was a totally 'indoor' cat until this year and he is seven now).
you seem very well organised - well done YOU!
we have our Christmas 'stash' in the cupboards - and looking at it - its ALL OHs! I rarely eat chocolate, don't eat biscuits or cake, I do like a bit of Turkish Delight (though I prefer GS1s name for it 'Ticklish Delight', lol) but haven't got any yet.
Ive had a quiet 'knitting day' too - on the tenth new matinee jacket/cardigan for the latest addition to the family. Ava Paige was born on Friday - my 7th grandchild. and she was a whopping 10lb 8ozs! good thing I made the garments in the 0 to 6 months size! they 'just' fit her! my grandtwins have ordered 'snoods' - so must get more wool - I tend to look in charity shops cos you can find some bargains there! otherwise its the bargain shops like Home Bargains, Poundstretcher (they have lovely yarns).0 -
Hi guys
Just a quick pop by to say hello
Meritaten - you lucky thing. I loved having cats but as they have all now sadly gone after living a lovely life and to a ripe old age. None of mine liked going out unless it was to lay in the sun. It wouldnt be fair to have any pets at the mo because they'd be regularly going into the cattery if we wanted to go up north. Mine used to sulk if we had to do that.
Today will definately not be a NSD. I have to post some parcels so while I'm spending bus fare I'm going to try and get as much of Xmas finished as possible. OH away tonight too so food will be odds and ends ( but only bits I fancy) OH doesn't like stews so I might make a small pan of veg lobby, I'd make a bigger one but I can't squeeze anything in the freezer at all. It's definately stew weather ( maybe with dumplings ) Yummy.
Anyway better get on
Keep warm guys

Hi everyone
Well tomorrow is a scary/ exciting day. OH has an appointment with the mortgage adviser. In theory they have said we should be OK but until we have a concrete offer I will be holding my breath. This is the next step in our plan, to buy our own house again down here and then sell up and move north again on retirement. Part of me is trying not to get too excited but then the other part is hoping for more space, a bath instead of just a shower and somewhere to put a chest freezer ( very sad I know)
I have spent the afternoon wrapping presents. Will someone remind me next year to buy presents that are easier to wrap. We bought the little great nephews car transporters with matchbox type cars. Not expensive but big and fun for them but I got myself in a real tangle with the wrapping paperTomorrow I'll try to get the cards written and sent.
All I need now are a few meals, mince pies etc and fruit, veg and milk to take me up to Xmas. OH said he'll get beer and pop from the cash and carry so that saves me a job. Last months food spends were £50 over but I'm just about organised now.
The weight loss is slow but steady and I'm gradually getting fitter. Mind you after years of neglect it will take a while.
I hope everyone is keeping warm and well. It's been quite chilly but dry here today, nice though hopefully it will kill a few bugs.
When I was at the shops today there was a junior school choir singing carols, quite, quite lovely but I can't get thr 'little donkey, little donkey ' carol out of my head.
Today that was one of life's little pleasures. It's the simple pleasures that are the best.
Anyway better go
Keep warm and well guys

I always try to get boxes from the local shops to put awkward shaped pressies in! Makes them so much easier to wrap.

Hi guys
Well the mortgage guy has just been back in touch and it's not good news. Ironically it wasn't to do with being ex BR but how old we are. We could only have got an 11 year mortgage and the payments and bills would have been all we were doing. I am feeling quite old at the mo, oh well never mind. So we are going to carry on squirrelling the money away and stay put. By retirement we might have enough to buy a little place up north or at least a decent buffer while renting.
