Hi
This diary is about rebuilding our lives after bankruptsy not about the living in a caravan. We live in a caravan because this is our choice at the moment. The diary is about my cutting costs and living frugally so that we can rebuild our lives and get ready for retirement so can we now get away from the caravan issue please or I might as well just give up this diary now.
Thanks
Cuddles

I made some lovely soup last night and am having more today for lunch - it's blustery here too...great for washing, but makes me want "snuggle food". Your jacket with beans yesterday made me fancy jackets on the lunch menu next week!0

CUDDLES please keep the diary going, caravan issues aside you and your lifestyle are inspirational stuff to those needing ideas for how to free themselves of debt and get their lives back on track. We need people like you to give honest and useful advice and sharing how you've decided to tackle life is so important and likely to be of immense help to others. Keep on keeping on, we need you, Lyn xxx.0

Thanks guys:)
I will keep plodding on with my (exciting?) life. The jacket potato and beans were really yummy last night, it's true that a little of what you fancy does you good. OH has just phoned to say he will be home in about 2 hours so by then tonight's culinary delight wil be steak pudding, mash and Brussels sprouts. The weather has gone really chilly now so this will go down really well.
It's a good job we've been married a long time because bedsocks are definitely part of my bedtime wear from now till next spring.
I was a good girl today where in the past I would have automatically bought Xmas cards if I saw any I liked and I thought no I would check whether I actually need any cos I have quite a few left from last year. I love Xmas and have to really try hard not to overspend.
Anyway better get on
Bye for now
Cuddles

Cuddlymarm given that I know how difficult it is to rent a home with a bankrupt ridden credit file, I can appreciate why living in a static is appealing. I am thrilled it's working for you at the moment. I bet you have more in the way of peace of mind than I do in my rental!
Like you said yourself you have plans and you need to rebuild in order to make those plans happen. I wonder how many people are BR's/DRO's/house Repo's and browsing this in the hope of learning OS ways to help them cope and rebuild. Please continue0 -
Hi Cuddlymarm, I'm sorry if I upset you with my question. I can quite see how it works for you and why Fuddle would be interested. I was just wondering. Anyway, enough of that as you say. Keep the diary going. I love reading. At the moment I am trying to use up my freezer stocks in order to save money and eventually defrost the freezer. I have a list of main meal components on the fromt of the freezer which I cross off as I use. Half a sack of potatoes and plenty of rice and pasta. I will need fruit and veg, milk, bread etc., but I am trying to eek things out. Well done on getting back on your feet after bankruptcy.

Hi Esther
You didn't upset me but it just seemed that my diary was going off track. I always think the fun of running your stocks down is to see how far you can stretch things and the wierd combinations you can try ( as long as your family will play along) Just before we went bankrupt OH had already moved down south to work during the week and I had two grown up boys at home I could convince them to eat most things with a sprinkle of melted cheese or with roast potatoes ( fish fingers roasties and beans are taste sensation) Bubble and squeak is still a favourite too.

I make soups and stews with whatever is there. The men in mylife like their meat but very little meat made into a stew with lots of veg and some beans blended in to thicken it and add protein fills them up without them realising how little actual meat is there. .

Sorry Cuddlymarm! its easy for a thread to get 'derailed' as other posters home in on something 'interesting'. but, its your thread so keep us on track!!!!!!!!!
meals on a miniscule budget I understand! as a former miners wife I went through 'The Strike' and feeding the kids and ourselves cheap nourishing meals - was a challenge! sausages always went down well! I think I learned fifty ways to cook sausages! Okay, slight exaggeration!
one of the most popular dishes was sausage casserole.
its simply a pack of sausages (and you cut the sausages into one inch pieces because otherwise you have to count the sausages you dish out). and brown them, then add a tin of beans and a tin of tomatoes. pinch of salt, some pepper and a dash of Worcester sauce (or if you cant afford that - a squirt of brown sauce) and bake for 45 mins. can be served with mash, chips or if really broke - on toast.0
