supermarket baby Events

Hi all,
I've seen a few supermarkets have events with deals on for baby items. I should've stocked up then but was just too busy (I know it's only going to get busier when the baby arrives!).
Does anyone know of an upcoming event that would have sale prices on nappies? I'm looking for a level of about 7p per nappy (size 1)
How much are aldi's nappies? I have heard they are pretty good.
Thanks

In all honesty, I would purchase one of each pack of nappies and check first what suits your baby.
I found Tesco Super Dry (or whatever it is called), Pampers Active Fit were the only ones that actually held anything in.
All the others I tried ended up leaking, so I had to change baby more often, so the nappies ended up costing more, and I had to wash the clothes more often too.0 -
Aldi sz 1 are £1.69 for 24nappies and sz 2 are around £2.69 for 48 nappies I think. We have been buying on offer n have stocked up to sz 4 did same with first baby have loads different brands and yes 7p a nappy is good for sz1 and then we aim for 10p a nappy.
Look for the big pampers packs on offer at bogof as the sz1 are 6.99 and others 9.99 we got a fair few pks when Tesco had the offer recently.
Aldi baby event also do big boxes of sz3 -sz6 for 6.99 and you get roughly 90 nappies depending on sz.0 -

Personally I wouldn't stock up on nappies or wipes pre the babies arrival as different types suit different babies. They are on special offer fairly frequently so just buy when you know what you'll prefer.0

Thanks all. Really good tips. That comparison site is also really useful.
I've bought some mamia nappies to test out. Hopefully they do the trick. If not I'll try a few other brands.0 -
I know when I was expecting my eldest that if you registered for them - Pampers sent you out a decent sized pack of about 10 to trial out... course then she was premature and ended up with the size below newborn ones so they got used by other mums on the ward anyway but still the idea was there!
As for good/bad ones - they all suit different babies and sometimes a brand that's fab in one size might not suit in another. I wouldn't stockpile too much either because you don't know how long they're going to be in one particular size either. I've still got 2 in nappies (I had 2 under-1 at one point) so I've changed a fair few over the last couple of years!
Tesco/Asda - I've found much of a muchness - they're what we tend to use and quite regularly on 2 big packs for £10.
Aldi - I quite like them but we don't always shop there - I'll buy 'em and use 'em if we need nappies and we happen to be there but I don't find that they're spectacular enough to make a specific trip out there. I quite like Aldi's wipes... not impressed on their nappy sacks I have to say.
Kiddicare Just For Bums - they don't do the really tiny sizes but I found them pretty decent when the kids were a little bit bigger - they come in huge boxes and obviously you need to factor in delivery costs if you're not hitting the free delivery level - I don't use them now because they don't do size 6 (I tend to have to run a size above the stated weights on nappies or my kids just wet through as they're so tall you end up with a nice builder's bum effect on them!) and because our local store's closed so it's a bit of a faff getting hold of them these days but they did us well for a good long while.
Pampers I don't get on well with - they smell funny to me and I hate nappies with huge ridiculous pictures all over their backsides - always makes me feel that a baby's become like a formula 1 driver or something -but I'm a bit daft like that.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I believe co-op has 3 for 2 on all nappies starting today.0

Cheers Dizzi, will bear that in mind!
Got a Co op just round the corner so will pop in and have a look!0 -
If you find that Pampers fit your baby well it might be worth looking at Amazon if you already have Amazon Prime?
Amazon do a subscribe and save on all sorts of things including baby nappies, wipes etc. the subscribe & save takes 20% the price of the nappies and they are delivered to you a months worth at a time which is very convenient
I tried so many different brands with DS and found only Pampers fitted well (honestly, expensive child!!) so this was a god send for me

Definitely don't stock up on nappies just yet! I hated Pampers when LO was born - they had a weird smell. I assume it was a hormonal thing because I can't smell it now and am back on them.
Asda nappies are great and I used to order them as part of my online grocery shop so no extra delivery cost. However, they let me down a couple of times.
I tried the Aldi ones which are fine but they don't fit my LO brilliantly well and there was a little incident with a wee something falling out of the side!
So I'm to Pampers now and as the poster above said, I have Prime anyway and do the subscribe and save which works brilliantly. No delivery, excellent price and I don't have to lug them back from the supermarket!
By the way - I thought the same and was dying to make sure I had everything I needed - you really, really don't and some days a trip to the supermarket is about as exciting as it gets! You will have time to go to the shops, honestly!
Good luck and congrats! x0
