Renting a property- late payment on credit card

Does anyone have experience of whether or not a credit check would fail with a letting agency if there is a late payment on your credit file? I accidentally paid a bill late in the summer and I may need to apply for a new place to rent in 6 months time

May vary from agent to agent, but the type of check they do normally doesn't go into the nitty-gritty of late payments, or even full-on defaults. They normally do a 'public information' search, which shows only court-related/formal action (CCJs, IVAs, Debt Relief Orders, Admin Orders, Bankruptcy, etc.). It also shows current and previous address links. But that's it.

Thanks very much for your reply - is the best thing for me to do to talk to a letting agents and explain?

I think the questions are around ccjs. Don't tell an agent anything that you don't need to.

A one off late payment on a credit card is nothing to worry unnecessarily about.
