Refund to my old debit card

Hi all,
apologies if this isn't the right place!
I received a refund for something I purchased a month ago on Etsy that never turned up, but I used my old card to pay with it (as my new one still wasn't with me by this time) which has now expired.
I have an email stating that my refund was made to my old card - any ideas what happens now that it's expired?! Surely the refund would be rejected?
I'll be contacting my bank (Lloyds) anyway as well as Etsy and the seller if needs be, just wondering what the best course of action would be as I've never had this issue before.
Thanks!

Your old debit card will be on the VISA or Mastercard database, linked to your bank account. If Etsy have issued a refund to your old debit card, your money will turn up in your bank account in the next few days.0

Fab, thanks so much - upon reflection this seems like the most logical resolution! I'll keep an eye out and if it's not in my account by Thursday I'll give them a bell. Thanks again!0
