My husband parked and bought a ticket at Vinci Car Park, Adam Street, when he returned to car a parking warden was booking him as the ticket had turned over when closing the door (we assume as he did not try to display it upside down), warden told him to appeal as the number was on both sides. We did not send the appeal but yesterday received a PCN 28 day notice to pay £100. We wish to appeal and will do so but after searching this site it appears that you have to appeal firstly to vinci, who will reject all appeals? then once you obtain a unique reference number, appeal to the IAS (so the letter says). I searched the site to try to find advice as to what to put in the appeal, save the obvious I paid but the ticket turned upside down in the wind (flimsy ticket-they should have sticky adhesive on them!)-could anyone provide this information to increase success of appeal or assist me by showing a link to the info I should include. In the meantime, I will submit my appeal (which will no doubt fail) to vinci. Thank you to anyone who helps me

Whenever a situation like this occurs, it beats me why people don't photo/video the discussion with the operative showing that a valid ticket was actually in the car. Most people have smartphones - so use them smartly!
I am sure that more detailed advice will come along, but do read the NEWBIES thread before composing the letter and be careful not to name the driver.0
